Thinking process

Build candidate moves before you commit.

Calculation training is easier to repeat when it begins with a clear process. Thinking Path asks you to generate candidates, check forcing ideas, order the moves, and make a final choice instead of following the first attractive line.

Make the final decision only after the alternatives have been named and checked.

Best for
Players who calculate one line too early, miss forcing alternatives, or struggle to explain why they chose a move.
Training boundary
Thinking Path trains the decision process. It does not expose a library of private solutions or replace post-game engine analysis.

COMMON QUESTIONS

About calculation training

What are candidate moves in chess?

Candidate moves are the small set of serious options you intend to compare before making a decision.

Should I always calculate checks first?

Checks deserve attention because they are forcing, but captures, threats, defensive necessities, and strong positional moves may be better candidates.

How is calculation training different from tactics?

Tactics often test whether a concrete motif works. Calculation training also develops how you generate and compare options before you know which kind of move is best.
